Being just 150 years old Holy Trinity Church is the “baby” of the Benefice, yet it is remarkable in its own way. Living opposite it in the Rectory is like living in the midst of a John Betjeman poem, for this church is set in lovely Hampshire countryside. As a former Rector, Grant Ockwell, declared, “This is the kind of village, church and churchyard all would surely dream about if exiled in a foreign land. Of it one might say this is how one always thinks about English country churches”.
This is a peaceful church in which the beat of the clock reminds you of the heartbeat of God, and there is a real sense of timelessness. Yet it is also a busy church with services every Sunday at 8.00 am and 11.00 am. This place reminds you that the church is not just “a building” it is “a people”. Here is a place where the people of God journey together with a real glow of thanksgiving in their hearts.
The church is situated a half-mile up Blendworth Lane from the Centre of Horndean.
